Music Recording: Guitars, Acoustic, Electric, Bass and upright

With live musicians at the ready, this hands on course aims to enable students to gain background knowledge, theory and practical skills of recording drums and percussion instruments.

Subject areas we will be covering are:

  1. Microphone placement
  2. Choosing the right equipment
  3. Fundamental equalisation 
  4. Enhancing listening skills
  5. Acoustic control
  6. Instrument frequencies 
  7. Recording techniques

On the Day: The course runs from 10:10 until 17:30 at our Studio A site (all one to one courses are held at Studio B) Tea’s and coffees are provided throughout the day with a half an hour lunch break. In the morning we will cover theory and examples of applications, in the afternoon practical hands on lessons will be given and questions are encouraged to be asked through out both sessions. Due to covid 19 we are open but have separate stations for you to work at.

What to bring: Yourself, any daily things you may need (please let us know if you have any requirements) and a packed lunch. (unfortunately due to the current situation we are not providing lunch. Hopefully soon!)

What’s provided: All course materials and practical equipment.
